Despite the FDA’s “final rule” urging companies, universities, and other institutions to report their clinical trial data onto a federal database in 2018, many clinical trial sponsors still ignore the requirement. According to Science, federal officials do little to enforce the law.

The Health Research Authority (HRA) of the United Kingdom has agreed to implement a new policy regarding clinical trials transparency. According to the author, not everyone is convinced of this measure.

Compliance with legal requirement to report clinical trial results on ClinicalTrials.gov: a cohort study – The Lancet
A team of researchers downloaded data for all registered clinical trials on ClinicalTrials.gov from March 2018 to September 2019. Through their research, the team found that compliance with FDAAA 2007 is “poor.”
